A lesson in speed (and surprises)

I finally made good on a promise I made 6 months ago.

We took the kids go-karting last night!

Something I said we’d do late last summer (once the weather cooled off)

They were ecstatic!

I was nervous.

This was their 1st time.

Here’s the thing…

They were naturals out there on the track!

Especially our daughter, who blew past every expectation I had.

She was weaving in and out, hugging the turns, and was calm as a cucumber.

I unfairly underestimated her.

She wasn’t just good. She was 10x better than I expected her to be.

On the drive home, that got me thinking….

How many times do we put “speed limits” on other people? Especially, people we love.

How often do we put our fears onto others?

Whether it be parenting, relationships or business.

Our doubts say more about US than THEM.

The lesson from go-karting:

Let people surprise you.

Give them the wheel.

Step back and watch them race past your expectations.

You might just learn that you’re the one who’s been going too slow.

YOU GOT THIS 🙌

In your corner,
Adam
