Advice I should have taken myself

Around Christmas last year, a friend reached out to me.

She’s been selling jewelry on Amazon for the last 5 years and has done millions of dollars in sales.

She was in the process of building out a Shopify store when we met up.

She had used two Facebook advertising agencies, and was not happy with the results.

From memory, she had spent about $37,000 in advertising and agency fees.

Total sales?

Somewhere around $15,000.

YUCK!

She was pissed, rightfully so.

She reached out to me to do dinner as she wanted my advice.

After dinner, we went back to her house.

We chatted business until 3:30 in the morning.

It was a Tuesday night.

I was in my element, and felt a high.

In fact, I’ve done a couple of Tik Tok lives over the last couple of days, and people could feel my passion.

This shit truly gets me excited.

My advice to my friend was three words: Build a brand.

That’s it.

Admittedly, that advice was inspired by Gary Vee.

But it was exactly what she needed to do.

Most of the emails I send out, and the posts I make on social media is advice I am sharing with the world.

Truth be told, it’s advice I’m sharing with myself. As if I am talking to a mirror. I just decide to share it openly as people find it valubale.

Weird how that works out.

Anywho…

That night with my friend has stuck with me.

Over the last several months, I have thought about that advice I gave her.

Was I talking to myself?

Was it advice I needed to take?

To build a brand that I could sell one day?

The answer to that question is YES.

So I am in the process of building a brand (eCommerce store selling print on demand items)

The plan is to sell this brand for millions years down the road.

I’m turning 40 in August, and this is part of my retirement plan.

My goal is to build this to a six figure business by August 8th — my 40th birthday.

I am documenting the journey on the Tik Toks.

Sharing the good, the bad and the ugly. Today’s Tik Tok is going to show the ugly.

You can follow along the journey here.

I’ll send out updates via email as well.
