[FF] Friday Fails #3: Eminem Was Wrong

Every Friday, I send out an email revealing my fails of the week.

GASP!

It ain’t all sunshine & rainbows per here.

And I fail FAR more often than I succeed.

These fails will be around life, business, family, parenting, mindset, health, etc.

I am doing this to show you that it’s ok (and completely normal) to fail.

Death, taxes and failing are the only three guarantees in life.

Yes, you will fail.

I’m not here to blow bullshit up your ass about never failing.

If that’s what you’re looking for, click the unsubscribe link below, as I have nothing for you.

These emails are to inspire you to go after the life you desire and not let anything (fear, doubt, excuses, imposter syndrome, limited mindset, etc) hold you back.

Fail #1 – Eminem Was Wrong

This has been something that’s been going on a while.

With TikTok especially.

I’ve found myself mimicking/modeling/copying what others are doing.

This is a “strategy” that’s often taught on social media, especially TikTok.

Model what works.

No need to reinvent the wheel.

And I believe in that philosophy, however, you have to be careful.

You can fall in the dreaded trap of starting to look like everyone else.

Like a lemming.

Doing what everyone else is doing.

You lose your message.

You lose your voice.

You lose your way.

You lose yourself.

Unlike my favorite rapper once said, this is a bad thing.

You sound/look like everyone else.

And no one wants that!

They want Y-O-U!

I found myself getting lost in the vanity metrics  likes, comments, view and/or followers.

So I started doing what others were doing a bit too often.

I veered from my message.

It didn’t feel right.

I dreaded the idea of creating TikToks, and some YouTube videos.

So what did I do about it?

As I was writing this email, I reached out to a friend from Jiu Jitsu.

He’s a videographer here in town.

We set up a video shoot next week, so I can start publishing the TikToks I want to create.

A way to unleash MY message with the world.

A way that’s aligned with my values.

Not chasing the bullshit metrics (likes, views & followers).

So when marketing online, it’s smart to model success.

But add your twist to it.

Add your own uniqueness to it.

Don’t be scared to share who you are.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

The strange, odd, nutty, quirky and eccentric ways you do things.

Years ago, I heard a great quote;

“Your weirdness is your greatest strength”

Don’t be shy with that shit!

Flaunt it every single damn day.

Be proud of it!

It’s what separates you from the 7,674,000,000 people on this planet.

This week I am only sharing this fail, as it’s a big one.

One I’ve been really internalizing all week.

One that I see SO many people are making  especially on TikTok/YouTube.

To your weirdness!
