My son was home from school today. He knocked out the bully on the playground on Friday. Kidding aside…. It was because of parent/teacher conferences today. We met with the teacher at 2:10 today. He’s struggling in math. And a handful of other classes. Like father, like son, although, math was always my subject. As we wrapped up, I asked her one last question: “Is he kind and respectful to you, his classmates, and the other teachers?” She smiled and said, “Yes. Always. thank you for asking that question” And right there… that was all I needed to hear. We can work on math. We can improve study habits. We can practice multiplication tables till our brains melt. In my opinion, being kind and respectful is the real report card that matters. Too many obsess over the wrong metrics in business (and life). We chase followers, and not impact. We obsess revenue over relationships. The stuff that people remember…can’t be tracked on a spreadsheet. They way you treat people. Doing what you say you’re gonna do. The energy you bring to each interaction. Don’t stress about being impressive. Focus on being someone who’s kind & helpful. Keep showing up, sharing who you really are, and lead with kindness. I find the rest takes care of iself when you do that. YOU GOT THIS 🙌 In your corner, P.S. I’m hosting a workshop in one hour.
