I’m trying something radically different right now.
I shared my new strategy in Sunday’s email (You can read the email here)
The strategy is NOT:
S3xy.
Flashy.
Trending
It most certainly won’t win me any social media awards.
In fact, social media is OPTIONAL.
I record and upload a daily YouTube video.
I write and send a daily email.
I upload to social if I feel like it, not because I feel like I have to.
That’s it.
No fancy edits.
No editing software.
No dancing on IG to the latest Kendrick Lamar song while pointing at text bubbles on the screen.
Just #onetake, walking around my neighborhood, riffing on what’s working (and not working) in my business.
Simple. Uns3xy. Profitable.
Here’s what I’ve earned from YouTube so far this month:
- $1,431 in digital product sales
- $343.76 in ad revenue
That’s $1,774 for yapping on my phone while walking ’round the neighborhood.
Honestly, I haven’t changed my t-shirt in 2 days. Hashtag…Living the dream
Heck, it’s 3:26 as I write this email, and I’ve yet to shower today #TMI.
Too many complicate the shit out of this content game.
They build content calendars that are longer than a Walgreen’s receipt.
They script every word and detail like they’re writing the next Mission Impossible movie.
They stress over hashtags, what time to post, what platform to use, tinker with Canva for an hour/day and update their IG bio 37x a week.
Meanwhile, I’m walking in the Vegas heat, with a backwards hat, a weighted vest, fumbling my words, and occasionally dropping an f-bomb…and making money.
The lesson in all this….
The internet is sick of pretty & polished.
It rewards real, raw and relatable.
This leads to clarity and trust.
I’ve yet to find anything better for building that combo than showing up daily with something valuable to say.
YouTube has been working for me.
Maybe it’s SnapChat for you.
Or Twitter.
Or LinkedIn.
Or Facebook.
It’s not the platform that’s the magic.
It’s the message.
A simple strategy, repeated daily, without overthinking the fuck out of it.
That’s the “cheat code” no one’s selling.
But it’s the one I’ve been using to line my pockets with more of the green stuff.
