I’ve been using Convert Kit since October.
It’s been a good platform, but it’s pricey.
Deliverability has went downhill (for me) the last few months, so have been thinking about changing platforms.
Customer service has been so-so.
I use a WordPress funnel builder that includes email, and I stopped using it last fall to move to Convert Kit.
Don’t ask why.
I like to make things difficult 😜
I was paying $119/mo for Convert Kit as I was on the 10k plan.
I had 9,500 subs.
I cleaned my list (deleted 2,200), so now have about 7,300 subs.
Which would put me on the 8k plan ($99/mo)
I got billed for the 10k bc I didn’t manually reach out to downgrade my account.
They don’t offer refunds.
Dumbest shit I’ve ever saw.
Yesterday was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
I spent all afternoon yesterday moving everything over form Convert Kit back to my WordPress site.
I could have hired someone, but that would have taken days.
I wanted this done ASAP, so I did it my damn self.
I’m now saving $119/mo.
I also have access to some cool automation features.
The email editor isn’t as simple as Convert Kit, hence why I moved last fall.
But there are several benefits to having everything under one roof.
It’s simplifies things.
It saves me money, so I now have an extra $119/mo to spend on Reese’s peanut butter eggs, or Oreo Blizzards from Dairy Queen.
The lesson:
Sometimes the popular tool isn’t the right one.
I wasted time, energy and $119/mo chasing shiny.
Now, I’m back to everything under one roof.
Less chaos.
More clarity.
The moral of the story:
Stop complicating the shit that should be simple.
Your sanity (and your wallet) will thank you.
YOU GOT THIS 🙌
In your corner,
Adam
