Venice Beach to Vegas: 4 hours & 55 minutes
Why it took us EIGHT hours yesterday 🤬
We stopped at Santa Monica on the way home yesterday.
The kids went swimming!
It was 62 outside, and the water was much colder than that!
Then we walked the Venice Beach boardwalk (something I had never done before).
We snapped this pic outside the famous Muscle Beach

I figured if we left by 3ish, we could “beat” the LA traffic.
Probably, the dumbest move I’ve made in the last decade.
Traffic was brutal.
We decided to try and take a “short cut”, cutting through The Angeles National Forest.
It was winding roads up & down mountains.
It was the “fastest” route per Apple Maps.
Big mistake.
That detour ended up costing us more time than if we just stayed the course.
After hours of delays, at stop at In-N-Out in Barstow, we finally rolled into Vegas at 10:45.
An 8 hour drive, that should take about 5 hours.
Exhausted, frustrated, and realizing, we learned a valuable lesson.
Sometimes the fastest path isn’t the one that looks like a shortcut. It’s the one that requires patience, consistency and sticking to proven routes.
Whether it’s battling LA traffic, mastering a new skill or building an online business, those temping “hacks” can often lead to delays and more frustration.
Stick with what works.
Trust the process.
If you ever feel like taking the “shortcut”…remember my 8-hour drive, and think twice 😜
YOU GOT THIS 🙌
