“Dad, you wanna play pass?”
My son asked me earlier today.
The kids are home from school for staff development day.
I dropped what I was doing.
We tossed the pigskin around in the street.
On a Monday afternoon.
Here he is practicing his punting…

And this…
This is why I do what I do.
It ain’t for fancy cars.
(We SHARE a 2011 Mercury, thank you very much)
It isn’t a big ol’ house
(We rent)
We only eat out once a week—and half the time, it’s Little Caesars, because we’re classy like that.
I’m not chasing the flashy “Instagram lifestyle.”
I chased moments like this.
The freedom to say “yes” at 2 pm on a Monday.
To walk away from the computer without guilt.
To bust my ass and work 8+ hour days…and 15 minutes on other days.
To be the kind of Dad who’s present, not just providing.
The truth is:
Some of the richest moments in life don’t cost a dime.
They just require you to be available.
I don’t have it all figured out.
I’m 2-3 lost socks away from a mental breakdown.
I’m grateful I chose a different path.
The path I’m on ain’t measured by likes, Lambos, or luxury vacations.
It’s measured by Monday afternoon passes in the street.
Here’s today’s reminder:
You’re allowed to build a life that actually feels good to live.
Not one you need a vacation from.
YOU GOT THIS 🙌
In your corner,
Adam
