| We played our second soccer game today. |
We lost. 1-0.
But plot twist:
We only had 5 players show up.
6 kids on the field, so we were short-handed the entire game.
These kids showed up!
They chased every ball.
They didn’t complain once.
Honestly? We were the better team, being down a player!
Reminds me a lot of business….
You’re almost never at full strength.
You got family stuff. Possibly a job. Or your website kinda, sorta works. Maybe a dream you have in your Notes app that you haven’t touched in months.
It’s easy to think:
“I’ll go for it when things settle down”
“I’ll start when I have more time/money/energy/clarity/fill-in-the-blank”
But sometimes?
You’ve got to play the game anyway.
Even when you’re a player short.
Even when the odds aren’t in your favor.
Even when you feel like you’re not “ready”.
Today’s game reminded me:
Effort over perfection. Showing up over timing. And sometimes, the greatest wins come on the days yuo don’t have all the pieces, but you play your heart out, anyways.
