Closing deals is a lot like proposing

Don’t believe everything you see on the interest.

Gee…thanks for the braingasim, Adam!

Adam stopping by again…

If you’re in the IM space, you’ve likely been told there are certain ways to do business.

Or best ways.

Or some might even say it’s the only way to do XYZ.

People crave certainty, so they’re always looking for the best/effective/efficient ways to do things.

Some mentally masturbate for days/weeks on end looking for the perfect solution (don’t do that…ever)

And some will “buy into” what the greedy gurus tell them.

Example: you have to use the phone to close high ticket sales.

This is a common one.

And one I bought into for years.

I then started hearing about others who were closing, $2,000, $5,000, $10,000, even $25,000 sales WITHOUT a sales call.

I was intrigued, as I’m not much of a fan of overcoming 37 objections and strong arming someone into submission for a sale.

I’m not saying it don’t work.

That way don’t work for ME.

I picked up a few trainings on how to sell via messenger and devoured them.

Here’s the thing…

It’s what happens BEFORE the messenger conversation that matters (your marketing).

It ain’t like they use some whiz bang script that effortlessly closes people through a DM.

Like a wedding proposal…she’s not saying “yes” because you wrote her a poem, proposed on the beaches of Bali, or whispered sweet nothings into her ear.

She said yes (hopefully, right?) because of what you did BEFORE the proposal.

A few weeks ago, I told you about a big business coach who reached out to me about writing his emails.

All our conversations were done via FB messenger.

I used a Google doc to share ideas, write some samples, and one doc was my offer.

Easy-peasy.

Lemon squeezy.

Closed a four figure retainer.

Last week, this coach referred me to a client of his, a real estate investor.

This guy and I did hop on a call (not a sales call) for about 10 minutes, so he could explain what he was looking for.

Basically, he was looking for a Facebook ghostwriter (someone to write his FB posts for him).

The next day, I DM’ed him a Google doc with my Godfather offer.

He messaged back that he accepted the offer. (another four figure retainer)

I have no more room for clients, as this isn’t something I typically do.

These two clients could turn into a six-figure revenue stream with retainers + performance deals, and if we work out.

Admittedly, that’s a big “if”. It’s still early, but things are trending in the right direction.

I took what I applied in the trainings on how to close deals in the DMs.

I sprinkled my magic on it, and am 2-for-2 closing high ticket deals in the DMs with my unique twist.

I’m not much of a (phone) sales guy and have always shied away from it (stupid, I know).

So I found something that works for me — Closing Deals in the DMs.

This was a “problem” for me, and I sought out a solution.

If someone says it “can’t” be done or this is the “only” way….that’s bullshit.

There’s always a way to do something.
